About - The Founder and the Idea
Tzamtzidou Eleni
I was born in Thessaloniki, Greece and I was adopted by the Saint Stylianos institution when I was 8 months old by two wonderful parents, Constantino Tzamtzidi and Smaro Tzamtzidou. I am a mother of a 38 year old daughter and a proud grandmother of a 19 year old girl , Eugenia-Eleni and the 15 month girl Eleni.
My circle of life was parallel to my experiences since I started involving myself into various business activities while I was 21.
Meanwhile I dealt with the psychology and especially the analysis of the nature of each individual.
I transferred this KNOWLEDGE in two patents.
1. No. 80 145 on 20/08/1984 for adults.
2. The no. 871 557 on 10.09.1987 relating to children.
I was also taught the technique of electroacupuncture.
But through my business activities I was able to organize WORKSHOPS for people with DISABILITIES.
I was actively involved as one of the founding members of ‘The Smile of the Child’ institution of Thessaloniki, Greece. My active involvement was the organization of the department of blood donation for cancer suffering children. I am also a volunteer at ‘Agios Stylianos’ institution where I was adopted, providing constant care and involvement with the children.
Due to my love for children I have created a 13 book/series of fairy tales and games.I am also the author of a book for individual who want to be model parents for their children. All the above literature is due for publishing and the profits will be provided as a charity to the ‘Angel’s Village’.
Once I lost my mother in 1982 and my father in 1987, (who, I have the right to believe that were angels on Earth), there was nothing else more important for me other than to create a children's village where children who need care and protection can grow. The village will enable them to live in a permanent home with real foster mothers ... just like I grew up. Mothers are not employees but mothers like ours , who will raise with care and love their children.
Our vision-aim is that each foster mother will care only four children in one house. So I want all 252 children in the 63 houses, to live and grow up in a paradise as they deserve, and not in an institution - orphanage.
So, this is "MY ITHACA"
How the idea was born
‘ Eleni Tzamtzidou- My inspiration’
My parents first saw me on a photo at Agios Stylianos institution and decided to adopt me, even though they didn’t think of adopting a child at the time. For me it was one of the best moments of my life and I feel proud and lucky in the same time for having those two ‘angel’ parents. Unfortunately in 1982 I lost my mother and in 1987 my father.
My outmost aim in life since 1987 was to create a village for children. The main purpose would be the upbringing of children that are in need of care and protection and who have lost their natural family environment. The first approach to the project created a feeling of self amazement even from the first draft models when we noticed some random but clear signs of faith, which was the motive to carry on with the project. While the project started becoming a reality and all the ideas started becoming part of the agenda, I started coming closer to my first dream, my first wish, the creation of the village.
On 19th of August 2009 the non profit organization ‘ Angels' village’ was established.
On the following slides, you can see the models of my initial idea, which if you notice carefully you will then believe and be part of the project too!
Οur project changed, MORE HOUSES (63 houses of 115m2 each), hence MORE CHILDREN will be PROTECTED (252).
